In today’s legal environment, one lawyer cannot be truly expert in every possible legal matter. For that reason, Jerod Tufte’s practice is limited to matters involving patent, trademark, real estate, and business law matters for clients across North Dakota and for patent clients nationwide. Jerod is a computer engineer and working with inventors and small businesses is what he is good at and what he likes to do. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney and is knowledgeable in all aspects of protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights.
Mr. Tufte is also active in conducting patent searches and preparing patent and trademark validity and infringement opinions in various technical disciplines. He counsels clients in entertainment content transactions and IP transactional matters including licensing, content development, nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements, and internet terms of use policy statements.
Jerod’s present practice includes prosecuting patent applications, conducting patent searches and providing legal opinions on patentability and infringement, significant general corporate work for BEK Communications, and a variety of matters for businesses and individuals.

Legal Experience.
Prior to opening Tufte Law Office, PC, Mr. Tufte was with the Phoenix, Arizona, office of the national firm of Perkins Coie, where he was engaged in significant patent litigation matters in the semiconductor industry for such clients as Intel Corporation.
After law school, Jerod served as a law clerk to Judge Roger L. Wollman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
